Tineka

Tineka was the fun-loving, easy going one of the sisters. She was also the one that everyone in the family could count on to be there when needed the most. I made this box as a tower to represent the stablizing force that she represented for the family. She enjoyed dancing and had a love for animals, and that is represented by the inlays of dancing silhouttes and animals.
DSC 0005 This box is made of walnut. The base of each section is maple. The top is walnut, maple and ebony. The inlays are yellowheart, purpleheart, padauk, ebony, and leopardwood. At the time I made this, Tineka used to wear her hair pulled back with a single afro puff at the top - hence the design of the box top. DSC 0032 DSC 0046 DSC 0048
